Imagery Technical Working Group

WFP's Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Technical Working Group (TWG) aims to build a community of stakeholders around the safe and responsible use of drones in humanitarian activities. The TWG serves as a platform to exchange ideas, best practices and help improve multi-stakeholder buy-in and coordination. The Imagery TWG is one of four key areas of focus.

The Imagery Technical Working Group explores the use of UAS images in both emergencies and preparedness activities with a focus on emerging technologies like AI and edge computing.

The group hosts several outside experts to present their work to the members in the spirit of cooperation and information sharing as well as to initiate constructive conversations that will enrich the experience and work of the TWG members. Please don’t hesitate to contact the chair or co-chair if you see that the work of your organization/entity will bring an added value to this TWG and members.

Chair: Marco Codastefano

Co-chair/s: Alessio Calantropio/ Politecnico di Torino and Filiberto Chiabrando/ Politecnico di Torino
